Taking Authentic Vintage Tone to HIFI Performance

Yellow 410FR (full range) Bass
  • Front ported bass-reflex enclosure designed around Weber Michigan 10's. We found this particular speaker's performance
extremely well balanced. Not only producing near perfect flat response but also having a very interesting character mixing aluminum dust caps and large paper ones together in one enclosure.
Aluminum caps give the speaker extra top end and chime often characteristic of Roland Jazz Chorus 12's, and the paper ones are soft, deep low end like Ampeg Classic series.

  • Enclosure is tuned to 35Hz at -3DB, Michigan's own Frequency of resonance is 50Hz, above graphic illustrates speaker's performance inside our enclosure.
  • Built in beam blockers provide high frequency diffusion, for further smoothing out response.
  • Internal treatments include bracing, damping material, and wall treatment.
  • Parallel wired 16 Ohm speakers for 4 Ohm load. Cabinet can be wired in two series sections in parallel for 8 Ohm load with loss of 3Db. We find bass tightness and efficiency is best with parallel wiring.

Test Notes: Galien Krueger BR400
Very well rounded tone, very articulate. Basses used: Custom DP with JJ Bartolini pickups, BTB Ibanez 6 string stock pickups. Low B on a 6 string actually becomes useful, you can hear the fundamentals quite well, although watch out for the amount of energy it packs.
